A while ago I came across a creased notebook with the lyrics and chords for what you can call an “ancient” song!
I wrote it 1974, me and my old piano had just moved out of my parent’s and in to my first own flat.
It was in town, in the backyard of my aunt’s house, next door to the garage
of an undertaker. Well, that had some obvious disadvantages but to me it seemed like heaven on earth:
finally freedom!
But back to the song:
I had never before written a song, let alone lyrics but in that specific situation
the words came easily and I can still recall the dark, desperate atmosphere when “A Short Love Song” was created.
For ages the notebook was buried in a box full of photos, letters and all the stuff you collect during the years.
It’s time to bring the little song back to life! It will be part of a 5-songs Folkrock project.
