Recently I re-discovered a Virtual Reality game I liked a lot, it's called Second Life.
I have always loved building stuff inworld, even worked together with a scripter for a while but haven't been there since around 10 years so it was time to see what is new and how I could use it today.
Since there are some places where they stream all kinds of music, even host parties in clubs, I thought I might use it to promote the music of some friends and mine. I rented a small "shop" near a club and set it up like a small record shop!
My avatar still looks the same as in the beginning, got to buy her a white wig ;-)
If you click the covers on the wall you will get a notecard including informations about the artist, website and Bandcamp link.
Believe it or not but to my surprise I sold a single track of my album The Raven via SL and meanwhile some people around listened to those albums, too. Well, in the time span of a few days that kind of promo had more impact than Facebook in a month ;-) and it's definitely more fun! Indies can't be too picky about our methods, right?
